The short version
You upload clips. We distribute them to subscribers. Subscribers pay us a monthly fee and download clips royalty-free. We send 40–50% of attributed revenue to you (tiered by your catalog performance), forever. You keep the copyright in your footage. We never claim ownership.
Your account
To upload or download you need an account. One person per account. Keep your credentials to yourself. If someone uploads or downloads using your login, that’s your responsibility until you tell us otherwise.
What you upload
Every clip you upload must be yours to upload: you either shot it or you have a written license that lets you share it. You are the author, you keep the copyright, and you can delete your clip from your dashboard at any time (subject to already-executed downloads, which stay licensed to the subscriber who downloaded them).
The license you grant
By uploading, you grant BrollCollective and our subscribers a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to stream, download, cache, reformat, thumbnail, and embed your clip in the platform, and (for subscribers) to use it in their commercial and personal projects (Instagram Reels, TikTok, listings, ads, etc.). This is the only way a stock-style library can work.
You keep every other right. You can license the same clip anywhere else you want. You can enter it in competitions. You can relicense it exclusively to anyone who isn’t BrollCollective.
What subscribers can do
Subscribers on any active plan may download your clip as many times as their plan allows and use the footage in their own content. They may not redistribute the raw file, sublicense it to a third-party stock library, or pretend they shot it. Attribution is optional but always welcomed.
Acceptable content
No uploads that:
- Include identifiable people without a signed model release.
- Use copyrighted music, logos, or visual IP you don’t own.
- Depict children in any non-incidental way.
- Contain hate, harassment, explicit sexual content, graphic violence, or illegal activity.
- Use drones over restricted airspace or people without consent.
Our AI moderation pass checks every upload before it goes live; human curators review anything the AI flags.
Payments & refunds
Subscriptions are monthly, auto-renewing, and cancellable at any time. If you cancel mid-cycle your access continues until the end of the paid period. We refund accidental double-charges and clearly broken service. Creator payouts are detailed in the Contributor Agreement.
DMCA & takedowns
If you believe a clip infringes your rights, email dmca@brollcollective.com with the URL, proof of ownership, and your contact info. We process valid takedowns within 72 hours.
Ending the relationship
You can delete your account and your clips at any time. We can suspend an account that repeatedly violates these terms, with notice where practical. Already-executed downloads remain licensed to the subscriber who downloaded them. That’s how a royalty-free library stays safe for everyone.
Disclaimers
We do our best to keep the platform up, secure, and fair. We don’t, and can’t, guarantee specific earnings, specific uptime, or that subscribers will love your particular clip. Use the service “as is.” Our total liability for any issue is capped at the greater of $100 or the last 12 months of fees you paid us.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict of laws. Disputes go to the courts located in King County, Washington, unless your local consumer protection laws give you stronger rights, in which case those apply.
